Amelia Arsenault, ABD

Amelia Arsenault studies how artificial intelligence, surveillance technologies, and smart-city systems affect international relations and public policy. She is a Ph.D. candidate in International Relations at Cornell University and a Fellow at the Cornell Brooks School Tech Policy Institute. She is also a predoctoral fellow at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), as part of the America in the World Consortium. Her research covers public opinion on surveillance, the use of large language models in policymaking, and the international diffusion of smart-city technologies. Her dissertation examines the political economy of surveillance technologies as they move between governments and private firms. Amelia's work has appeared in the Oxford Handbook of AI Governance, the Journal of Peace Research, the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal, and Harvard Business Review.
