Strata is led by a small, interdisciplinary team of PhD-trained researchers with deep field experience across the regions we serve. Our team brings together expertise in political science, economics, security studies, and applied statistics, unified by the same standard of rigor on every engagement.
Around our core team, we draw on a trusted network of vetted specialists and field partners we've worked with for years. We build each project around the question, identifying the expertise it actually needs and bringing in the right people to answer it well.

In research, strata are the distinct subgroups within a population that tell very different stories if you look closely enough. Good research doesn't treat people as one undifferentiated mass. It goes deeper, separating out the communities, contexts, and experiences that look similar on the surface but mean something very different up close. We named the firm Strata because that's the kind of work we care about: getting beneath the headline number to understand what's actually going on.
